3SS And Technicolor Debut Pre-Integrated Custom Launcher On Android P STBs For Emerging Markets At CES 2019

Stuttgart, Germany – December 19, 2018 – 3 Screen Solutions (3SS), leading provider of software solutions for set-tox box (STB) and multiscreen digital entertainment, announces the launch of a new pre-integrated solution aimed to help operators optimize and launch Android TV services.
The new combined offering comprises a pre-integrated, proven Technicolor STB and Middleware with award-winning 3READY Android TV Custom Launcher.
The 3SS-Technicolor integration comprises a tiered offering which can support different operator classes. It includes a solution which combines 3READY and Technicolor “Pearl” STB geared to address the needs of would-be service providers in growth markets such as the burgeoning economies of Asia and Africa. The same solution can support new market entrants, looking to build their businesses by accelerating implementation and revenue flow.
The 3READY Custom Launcher enables operators to reap the maximum potential of Android TV deployments. It delivers a much richer user experience than a standard launcher, while enabling customization and branding, thus supporting operators’ marketing objectives.
Automation and A/B testing capabilities in 3READY help operators to quickly and clearly understand what new features will appeal to viewers, leading to faster and more successful product launches.
The solution draws on the partners’ unmatched expertise and track record in international Android TV based system deployments, including the multiple-award winning Com Hem Tv Hub, deployed by leading Swedish pay-TV provider Com Hem in Spring 2018 in the first-ever hybrid Android TV Operator Tier system, based on Android N.
Now fully compliant with latest version Android P, 3SS and Technicolor are working together on further major new Android TV Operator Tier projects, to be announced. 3SS has a deep history in Android deployments, having delivered award-winning Swisscom TV 2.0 in 2014, and in 2018, Canal Digital OnePlace and Com Hem TV Hub, which has scooped up numerous prestigious industry accolades.
