bobbles.tv enables people to stay connected with home via Satellite and OTT
Reaching out to entertain expatriate communities with content in multiple languages, the new bobbles satellite and OTT video services went live in 2016 via MX1, media services subsidiary of worldwide satellite leader SES. For the OTT service, an innovative user front end, designed by TeraVolt and integrated by 3SS, enables subscribers to seamlessly navigate linear TV, catch up, live IPTV, VOD, search and backwards EPG - so a subscriber can access a programme even if they missed it.
We developed apps for web, iOS and Android, with tailored front ends and UX. The bespoke app server we built acts as a mediation layer, linking the back end with the front end and apps in a seamless, unified and operationally efficient way.
An easy-to-use subscriber dashboard shows promotional teasers, programming highlights, and metrics on what’s trending. bobbles viewers can set up a personal watchlist, recommend programming using email and social media, and sign up for bobbles newsletters.
3SS carried out end-to-end integration with business-critical functions including DRM, payment mechanisms, content management and translation systems that will help accelerate future service launches in new languages.
bobbles.tv is a product of bubbles media GmbH, a new pay TV provider based in Hamburg, specialising in TV products for international target groups. A team of 15, consisting predominantly of native speakers from the bobbles.tv communities, deals with license purchasing, marketing and sales. Partners of bubbles media include Arnold C.
